History of New Milford

Established in 1859 by the Susquehanna County Court.

The first election held in and for the Borough of New Milford was held at the house of Elijah Barnum, January 18, 1860.  William C. Ward was elected Burgess ad Ezra Pratt, William Hayden, George Weed, Josiah Moss and Horation Garrett were elected councilmen.
